Good museum about Slovenia's recent history. It's quite complicated stuff, and it could perhaps do a better job of simplifying it, but it's a really interesting way to spend an hour or two in Ljubljana.

Il museo è molto interessante, ci sono le foto del maestro Bratus Loijze di Gorizia, che fu avvelenato dai fascisti per aver cantato in sloveno. Poi tutte le croci e rosari dei poveri domobranci, strage che fu denunciato da Edvard Kocbek nel testo paura e coraggio. Insomma una parte di storia che riguarda anche Yrieste.

Das Museum war auf jeden Fall relativ neu gemacht, die Tafeln waren informativ, auch auf englisch und es gab einige digitale Elemente. Bei den zeitzeugenberichten haben leider überall die Kopfhörer gefehlt, sodass man diese nicht anhören konnte. Die Anordnung der Ausstellung war meiner Meinung nach außergewöhnlich - es sah alles sehr ästhetisch aus, war aber teilweise schon etwas überfordernd und oft fand man die Information zu dem entsprechenden Ausstellungsstück nicht. Besonders den Teil zum 2. Weltkrieg fand ich aber sehr gut gemacht. Alles in allem auf jeden Fall sehr interessante Themen und für nur 5€ Eintritt kann man sich das Museum auf jeden Fall anschauen, wenn man einen Zeitvertreib in Ljubljana sucht

This is quite a fascinating museum if you have time to study, read, and contemplate. It is not a museum you can bustle through in 30 minutes. We spent a good two hours but we learned so much about what happened in Slovenia from War War I forward. The displays are written in English. There is seating throughout and the restroom is clean. We walked through Trivoli Park to arrive at the Palace where the museum is located. It was a fine way to cool off and wasn’t crowded. We also received Pensioner discounts. Recommend if you are interested in history. Not really a place small children would enjoy I’m my opinion. So be prepared to navigate stairs.

This was my favourite museum/gallery in the city, as so many had hinted at historic events but not really explained them and I was left not understanding the significance. After this visit I felt really well informed about the more recent history of Slovenia, with all my questions answered. The displays are arranged in chronological order, and are a mix of photos, text, video, sound, and interactive elements. There is a fair bit of reading, but it's all really interesting. I was surprised at how few visitors there were, as for me this was a highlight. However, I would caution that I think it would be inaccessible for younger (primary age) children. There's no air con, so although it's a respite from outside temperatures, it's still warm.

Really informative and interesting. Considerably cheap, but no AC. Still worth the time and money. Very objective. Highly recomend WW 2 section as it offers many objects and real stories.

Herausragendes Arrangement der Ausstellungsstücke über die Geschichte Sloveniens vom 1. Weltkrieg bis zum 10-Tage Krieg in den 90ern. Sehr übersichtlich und informativ sind die einzelnen Räume gestaltet. Infotafeln und Videomaterial sind in Englisch und Slovenisch zu genüge vorhanden. Für die Tour durch das Museum kann man knapp eine Stunde einplanen

Изключително интересен и приятен музей! Интересни исторически факти могат да бъдат научени в музея ! Докато бяхме в музея се снимаше филм , запознахме се с актьорите , беше изключително интересно ! :) An extremely interesting and pleasant museum! Interesting historical facts can be learned in the museum! While we were in the museum, a movie was being filmed, we got to know the actors, it was extremely interesting! :)

It's a very interesting museum about the history of Slovenia in the 20th century. With the permanent exhibition you can see how Slovenia went throughout the past century starting from Austro-Hungarian empire, following by the period of the kingdom of Yugoslavia, WW2 and German/Italian occupations, Tito's Yugoslavia and finishing with the most recent history of its independence. The displays are very informative and interesting to read. The exhibits displayed in the museum are very impressive and allow you better immerse into the time periods. Highly recommended if you are interested to learn about the history of Slovenia.

Nedavno nazaj smo s šolo obiskali muzej, kjer smo si ogledali zgodovino Slovenije ter njenega ozemlja med leti 1914-2008. Razstava je obširna in se jo splača pogledat. Imeli smo vodiča, kateri je zelo lepo in podrobno pripovedoval zgodbo ter vlogo Slovenije v tistih časih. Priporočam vsem, če ne drugo si lahko malce obnovimo splošno znanje.

Gut gemachte Abschnitte zu den Weltkriegen und zu den 90ern. Der Raum zur Nachkriegszeit war grossartig. Die Zeit 1960-1980 scheint eher lieblos gemacht, die aktuelle Geschichte vielleicht zu wenig interessant für Zeitzeugen. Ich habe in umgekehrter Reihenfolge besichtigt, kann ich empfehlen.
